Introducing the Okta app for Workato

Working in partnership with Okta and Workato, we are very pleased to announce the release of a new Okta integration, within the Workato Cloud Integration Platform. This brand new ‘no code’ application connector will allow you to drop the following Okta related activities into a Workato recipe (workflow):

  • Triggers
    • Listen for an instance of a specific event within the Okta system log, and use it to trigger a workflow
  • User Administration
    • Create user
    • Get user
    • Update user
    • Delete user
    • Activate user
    • Deactivate user
    • Get user groups
    • List applications assigned to user
  • Security Events
    • List recent logons by user
    • List recent logons source IP address

Further information can be found here on the Workato website. Here are some of the possibilities that we have built so far up using this connector:

  • Interact in real-time with a Slack ‘workbot’ to retrieve and amend Okta user data
  • When an employee is enrolled within BambooHR, automatically create an account for the user within Okta in real-time and assign them job-specific access roles
  • If a high-risk user logs onto an application via Okta, ping a real-time notification into a SecOps Slack channel, with the option for them to issue an immediate account deactivation command
  • If an instance of the Okta Active Directory agent goes offline, raise a ServiceNow ticket, assign it to the relevant support team and ping a real-time notification into a support Slack channel
